Why is this design so special?

The project has been in development for more than two years. Particular attention is paid to glass marches, which form intersections without unnecessary metal elements. Each span is about 11 meters long, and the marches cross, evenly distributing the load.

Details:

• Laminated glass (triplex): used as the main material for steps and spans.
• Metal minimum: special stainless steel fasteners — only where it is critically needed.
• Engineering tests: the project was tested for strength with the participation of specialists of Delft Technical University.
• Load test: each step was loaded with 80 liters of water — a total of about 5 tons for the entire structure.

How was it possible to achieve the stability of the glass structure?

Glass is a fragile material, but modern lamination technologies using PVC film give it strength. Engineers sought not only aesthetics, but also reliability: even in case of damage to one of the parts of the staircase, the integrity of the structure is preserved.
